What MeterBrief is, and is not
MeterBrief produces analysis derived solely from the meter data and settings you supply. Its outputs are information to support your own professional advice, not advice. You are responsible for reviewing every report before presenting it to a client, for the accuracy of the inputs you provide, and for any recommendation you make on the back of it. All £ figures are indicative estimates at the stated assumed rates; verify against actual contracts before acting. Capacity, tariff, and charging decisions should be confirmed with the relevant DNO or supplier.
The service is provided as-is during its pilot phase, without warranty. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MeterBrief accepts no liability for decisions taken on the basis of its outputs. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Your responsibilities for uploaded data
Only upload meter data you have the right to process. Where the data relates to a client, you are the data controller and must have a lawful basis for sharing it with MeterBrief for analysis.
What we store and for how long
- A generated report stores: the derived half-hourly consumption matrix, the analysis figures, the client and brokerage names you entered, any logo you uploaded, and the settings used. The original CSV file is not retained after analysis.
- Reports are stored until deleted. Every report page has a “Delete this report” control; deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also request deletion by email.
- Report links are unguessable and unlisted. Anyone you share a link with can view that report.
- If AI narrative generation is enabled, a summary of the computed findings (figures and finding text, not the raw half-hourly readings) is sent to Anthropic’s API to draft the report prose. No data is used for advertising, sold, or shared with any other third party.
- We use Mixpanel (EU-hosted) to understand product usage: which pages are viewed and which features are used. It stores a device identifier in your browser's local storage. We do not send it the contents of your reports or your meter data.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card details. A signed cookie records an active subscription.
